Infinix has taken the wraps off its latest smartphone series, the Infinix Note 30 series, in Kenya.
The series was unveiled locally at an event in Lamu.
The series brings with it the signature JBL sound tuning that we have heard about for months.
For Kenyans, these devices are also our first interactions with Infinix’s new AllRound Fast Charge accelerated charging technology that goes as high as 260W for wired charging and 110W for wireless charging.
The series comprises the Infinix Note 30, Infinix Note 30 Pro and Infinix Note 30 VIP.
The Infinix Note 30 packs a 6.78-inch Full HD+ LCD panel with 120Hz refresh rate while the Note 30 Pro keeps the same resolution and refresh rate (but a higher 360Hz touch sampling rate, compared to the standard 240Hz we have come to expect from devices) but goes with a superior AMOLED panel instead. On those displays are punch holes for the 16 and 32-megapixel selfie sensors on the Note 30 and Note 30 Pro, respectively.
On the back of the devices is where the differences appear with the standard Note 30 having a 64-megapixel main camera that’s backed by a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a QVGA AI camera. On the Note 30 Pro, that main sensor is upgraded to a Samsung-made 108-megapixel ISOCELL HM6 sensor while keeping the other sensors that we can find on the standard model.
Under the hood, both devices are powered by the Helio G99 from Taiwanese semiconductor powerhouse MediaTek. A 5G model of the Infinix Note 30 uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 6080 which has 5G radios.
Both devices have 8GB RAM and offer 128GB and 256GB storage configurations.
Note: we are using “both” here to mean the standard Infinix Note 30 and the Infinix Note 30 Pro as we have little information regarding the Infinix Note 30 VIP as at the time of publication.
All three devices run on XOS 13 which is based on Android 13.
The aforementioned AllRound Fast Charge applies as follows on the Note 30 series’ 5,000mAh batteries:
- 45W fast charging for the Infinix Note 30 (and Note 30 5G)
- 68W fast-charging for the Infinix Note 30 Pro and Note 30 VIP
The devices also support 15W wireless charging.
The devices come in Classic Black, Interstellar Blue and Sunset Gold colour options.
Pricing for the three devices is as follows:
- Infinix Note 30 – Kshs 27,999
- Infinix Note 30 Pro – Kshs 33,999
- Infinix Note 30 VIP – Kshs 45,999
Obviously, the above pricing will likely vary compared to what the different retailers in the country price the devices at. As usual, we recommend checking with some of our recommended merchants if you’re looking to purchase the device.
