Tecno has announced the availability in the Kenyan market of a new variant of its Camon 20 series, the Tecno Camon 20 Series Mr Doodle Edition.
The Mr Doodle Edition of Camon 20 series is just the same same smartphones that the company unveiled 4 months ago in the country but with a fancy funky back cover that has been designed to show off the graffiti works or Mr Doodle, a popular graffiti artist.
“The phone adopts the moon phase colour-changing technology, combining Mr Doodle’s graffiti paintings with Camon 20’s unique 3D design,” Tecno says in a statement. “The back cover absorbs light during the day time and releases it as fluorescence at night, allowing the phone’s back to display Mr Doodle’s graffiti works.”
Tecno says that the unique design of the Camon 20 series Mr Doodle Edition makes it a fashion icon during the day and an eye-catcher a night, showcasing a fusion of both fashion and art.
As far as internals go, buyers of the Mr Doodle Edition of the Camon 20 series can expect the same same components present in the other respective Camon 20 variants. For instance, the Camon 20 Pro Mr Doodle Edition has the exact same specifications as the Camon 20 Pro that doesn’t that fancy back cover.
As can be expected, opting for the newly available artsy Camon 20 models will cost a little more than the vanilla ones. Their pricing is as follows:
- Tecno Camon 20 – Kshs 28,500
- Tecno Camon 20 Pro – Kshs 35,500
- Tecno Camon 20 Pro 5G – Kshs 45,000
- Tecno Camon 20 Premier 5G – Kshs 62,000

This is not the first time that we are seeing Tecno introduce artsy variants in the Camon series. With the previous Camon 19 series, we had a Mondrian Edition whose back cover featured the abstract artwork of Piet Mondrian, a renowned Dutch artist from the last century. With the Camon 20 series, other markets like India have seen an “Avocado Art” variant from the same Mr Doodle introduced.
