Samsung isn’t letting the Galaxy S24’s launch distract them from beefing up older models with new One UI 6 features. And the latest in line is the 4G variant of the Galaxy A13, which is now receiving the update to One UI 6 based on Android 14, the device’s second major OS update following its debut with Android 12.
The rollout, currently limited to Korean units, brings a host of new features and improvements to the budget-friendly device, even though its upgrade journey is nearing its end.
While Samsung’s recent commitment to up to seven years of updates for flagship models like the Galaxy S24 is commendable, the Galaxy A13 is only guaranteed two major OS upgrades. This means Android 14 will be its last hurrah for the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system. However, a silver lining exists in the form of the potential One UI 6.1 update, which could arrive in the coming months before Samsung officially draws the curtain on feature updates for the device.
For Kenyan Galaxy A13 (4G) users itching to get their hands on the new Android 14 update, the wait is still on. But be sure to keep checking the phone’s Settings > Software update menu. The update, at least in Korea, carries build number DWL5 and is the same version expected to land in other markets soon.
