Xiaomi is rolling out its HyperOS update to the global version of the Redmi Note 11S smartphone. Initially released in a pilot program earlier this month, the update is now reaching more users, including those in Kenya.
The update, designated as version 1.0.1.0.TKEMIXM, includes many of the anticipated features of Xiaomi’s HyperOS along with the February 2024 security patch, enhancing the device’s security. While the Redmi Note 11S shipped with Android 11, HyperOS builds on the device’s existing Android 13 upgrade, which was its second and final major operating system upgrade. In short, this update doesn’t bring Android 14 to the Note 11S.

Xiaomi’s official download page for the global Redmi Note 11S now features the latest HyperOS ROM. This means users eager to experience HyperOS can download the update and install it manually even if they haven’t received an automatic over-the-air (OTA) update notification. So far, the global variant is the first and only variant of the Redmi Note 11S to receive the update, with the rest of the models still on MIUI 14.
HyperOS promises a refreshed user interface and various performance and optimization enhancements. So stay tuned for further updates about potential HyperOS rollouts to other Xiaomi devices.
