Xiaomi has reportedly quietly started rolling out its new “REDMI” boot logo to older Redmi devices via software updates. The rebranding, which originally debuted with the Redmi K80 series in November, ditches the lowercase “Redmi” in favor of the all-caps “REDMI,” signaling a bolder brand identity.
According to XiaomiTime, users who have received the update report that their phones now display the updated boot animation with the new branding when powering on their devices. While Xiaomi has not released an official list of devices set to receive the change, it’s safe to assume existing Redmi models that are still receiving Over-the-Air (OTA) updates will get the new logo.
The shift is part of Xiaomi’s broader effort to unify Redmi’s branding across its product lineup. Although this is purely a visual change with no functional impact, it reflects Xiaomi’s intention to give Redmi a stronger and more distinct presence in the market.
For users who have yet to receive the update, it’s just a matter of time before the new “REDMI” logo makes its way to their devices. Although it’s likely happening in China first before the global rollout. As the rollout progresses, expect more Redmi phones to embrace the refreshed branding with upcoming firmware updates. This logo should also boot up on every new Redmi device going forward.
