The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is coming. That is if you are living in Kenya. The wait could be shorter if you’re elsewhere. With Samsung opening pre-registrations for the device yesterday and expected to open pre-orders in a little over a week, Safaricom has gone ahead to open pre-orders for the device.
The telecommunications company’s retail arm has a microsite where interested buyers of the device can key in their information so that they can be contacted later on by staff with regards to purchasing the device. Something like what Samsung is doing with the pre-registrations only that in this case, one gets to specify the exact Safaricom retail outlet where they want to pick their swanky new 6.3-inch phablet and they will have to part with a part payment at some point.
Those buying the Galaxy Note 8 through Safaricom will part with the same Kshs 104,999 that those buying the device through Samsung brand stores will be parting with. True to its tradition, Safaricom is bundling a 4GB data bundle with the purchase on top of the 5,100mAh portable charger offered by Samsung to all customers who pre-order the device.
