From a release price of Ksh 84,999, Samsung Galaxy S8 price in Kenya has now dropped to an impressive Ksh 66,999 while the Galaxy S8+ can be yours for Ksh 77,000, down from Ksh 94,999.

Unless you are that bad in mathematics, you’ll know the current high-end phones from Samsung are now retailing at a whopping discount of Ksh 18,000 compared to their release prices. This is not something you’ll walk into on a daily basis, but it’s happening thanks to folks at Phones Arena Kenya, one of the many upcoming retailers in the country.

Before this change, the previous Samsung Galaxy S8 price stood at Ksh 74,000 on the same platform, which means the latest price drop is as a result of a cool Ksh 7,000 discount. However, walk into any Samsung shop across the country and you’ll still find the S8 and S8+ priced at the same prices of Ksh 85,000 and Ksh 95,000, respectively.

Despite the change in price, nothing has changed about the Galaxy S8 and S8+ you know or have heard of. The phones still rock beautiful curved Super AMOLED display screens with Infinity Display and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. There’s a 5.8-inch panel on the S8 and a bigger 6.2-inch panel on the S8+. Unlike models sold in the U.S. and China, these two have an Exynos 8895 SoC mated with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, same as those variants sold in Europe and other markets, including Samsung’s home turf of South Korea.

The cameras have the same 12MP and 8MP lenses on the back and front, respectively. The battery keeping the S8 kicking is a 3000mAh unit and the S8+ gets a bigger 3500mAh unit, both of which are charged via a USB-C port and support the company’s proprietary fast charging technology. In terms of software, the Galaxy S8 and S8+ have Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box.

So far, this is the best Samsung Galaxy S8 price in Kenya that we’ve seen and while it’s possible that it might get a lot cheaper with the release of the Galaxy Note 8, you can’t bet on this price drop to happen anytime soon. In fact, you might be in for a surprise!
