Samsung Galaxy A6+, Galaxy J6+, and Galaxy J4+ receiving new security updates in Kenya

Samsung Galaxy J4+

Samsung Galaxy A6+, Galaxy J6+, and Galaxy J4+ have been selling in Kenya for some time now and to justify their somewhat steep price tags compared to the competition, the Korean tech major is seeding new updates that improve the security of the phones.

The updates started rolling out earlier this week and since they usually take a few days to reach all units, you should have already received the download notification by now. For owners of the Galaxy A6+, the update is a little old, though, arriving with October 2018 security fixes and carrying software version A605FJXU3ARI2.

On the other hand, both the Galaxy J6+ and J4+ are receiving November 2018 security updates, the latest version available as of this writing. The former’s update has version J610FXXU1ARK5 while the latter is receiving version J415FXXU1ARK6.

Of course, all three updates are based on Android Oreo and even though these devices should switch to Android 9 Pie at some point, the update might arrive somewhere in 2019. For now, make sure you grab the rolling-out update as soon as it shows up on your device.
