The Galaxy S9 and S9+ are already selling in Kenya, but at figures in the regions of Sh 100,000, only a handful of the population can afford one. For the rest of us, we turn to mostly hunting deals. And there’s one on Jumia that might interest you.

For deal hunters, it is always a pleasure to come across older flagship phones selling at half their release price or even less. At Sh 38,500, you can walk away with a brand new Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, the cheapest price we’ve seen on the retailer so far for a phone that debuted in Kenya priced at Sh 85,000. I know it’s a 2016 phone, but for all the raw power, great photography, big battery and everything else that comes with any flagship phone from the leading smartphone vendor in the world at any given moment, this is worth considering. Throw in there the fact that it’ll be getting Android Oreo and you’ll have little to complain about.

It’s worth noting that this deal is available on Jumia Global, which means it is sold by an overseas retailer through Jumia and thus it’ll take longer than the typical 1-week delivery period, probably a month. Alternatively, you can take advantage of a local deal, but you’ll pay more at Sh 43,400 for the same device, which will be delivered within a week.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Gold

The Galaxy S7 Edge comes with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display screen, a Samsung Exynos 8890 chipset, 4GB RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, a 12MP main camera, 5MP on the front, and a 3600mAh battery unit. Keep in mind that the S7 Edge comes from the age of microUSB ports, on the brighter side, you get the 3.5mm audio jack, which is becoming elusive on high-end phones (but not Samsung’s, at least for now).

Also, note that these figures exclude delivery costs, which may vary depending on where you are in Kenya, but not by a significant margin. However, Jumia Global’s fee includes customs and international shipping charges, so you don’t have to worry about having to deal with KRA officials in any case.
