The Xiaomi Redmi 6 is now officially available for purchase in the country according to Xiaomi Kenya.
The device, which was announced 2 months ago, has been showing up in a number of markets where Xiaomi is active over the last few weeks and Kenya is the latest to join the list.
The device’s availability comes just over a month since the launch of another member of the Redmi 6 family, the Redmi 6A.
Like the Redmi 6A, the Redmi 6 is targets the same entry-level crowd that Xiaomi has been wooing locally for a while now. In fact, it still packs the former’s display as well other identical internals bar the processor which sees an upgrade to a MediaTek Helio P22.
The difference between the two is highly visible to the naked eye when it comes to the camera department with the latter swapping the solo 13-megapixel shooter on the 6A for a dual-camera setup comprising 12 and 5-megapixel lenses.
The Redmi 6 also has a fingerprint sensor on the back to ease the unlocking procedure, a feature that is lacking on the Redmi 6A.
Specifications of the device are as follows:
- Display: 5.45-inch HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels)
