It has taken Infinix Mobility over a year to bring forth the Infinix Zero 6, the successor to the Zero 5 that came out in November 2017.

Even though we had seen traces of the device(s) on various platforms, including the CA, some claims emerged towards the end of last year that the Chinese vendor had plans to do away with the Zero series. As it turns out, this isn’t the case, with the company already throwing around plenty of teasers and cryptic messages regarding the availability of the Zero 6 in the country.

The Infinix Zero 6 is expected to slot in the position currently held by the Zero 5 and we expect a Pro or Plus variant as well, just like its predecessor. Looking at the specs above, there is no doubt the phone will be a significant upgrade over the Zero 5 in terms of performance, but the battery is smaller compared to the massive 4350mAh unit used in the outgoing model.

Photography specs are impressive, but the camera obviously needs real-world use to justify what’s on paper. Still, the amount of hype Infinix is throwing behind the Zero 6 camera hasn’t gone unnoticed, so we expect what is truly an all-time camera.

Given that the Infinix Zero 6 is a phone that was meant to arrive in 2018, it has a year-old design featuring an iPhone X-style notch and camera setup on the back, a glass back, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and will come in three color accents of Pink, Black, and Blue.

A few days ago, Infinix Kenya published a teaser in the official Infinix Club forums with the tagline “something Amazing is coming your way!” and has since followed it up with a series of social media posts about the incoming Zero 6 accompanied by the hashtag #comingsoon.

So far, there is no mention of any specific dates, but in another tweet (below) that appears to be a bit cryptic, the company seems to suggest that the Infinix Zero 6 will be unveiled on February 19th, which is actually this week Tuesday. We can’t say for sure, but even if this date doesn’t materialize, it won’t be long before the Zero 6 arrives in the country.

If you can find the answer to the above, that’s probably where the Zero 6 release date lies.

We don’t have pricing details as well, but based on history, expect the base model to retail at about Sh 25,000.
