Huawei’s latest budget smartphone, the Y6 Prime 2019, is now available in the country.
Huawei has been promoting the device and running a price guess competition in the run up to it being made available in the market today.
The device is going for Kshs 13,499. Interested buyers can pre-order the device between today (March 12th) and March 15th online and in select retail stores across the country after which it will go on sale.
Huawei has partnered with Lipa Later to offer credit services to those wishing to get the device without having to pay the full price upfront.
According to the company, “All purchases will come with a gift hamper that entails selfie stick, foldable bags and Bluetooth speakers or mugs in select stores.”
At that price, the Huawei Y6 Prime 2019 steps in between the Huawei Y7 Prime 2019 launched in January and the Huawei Y5 Lite launched in December. The former goes for Kshs 18,000 while the latter goes for just under Kshs 9,000. As such, the Y6 offers anyone who wants more than an entry-level smartphone experience but isn’t willing to spend a lot on the same, an option.
The Huawei Y6 Prime 2019 is the first budget smartphone from the company to be officially made available in the local market running Android 9 Pie.
