Infinix Hot S3 has its biggest price cut, yet, on Jumia

When it launched last year, my considered opinion was that, for its Kshs 19,000 asking price, the Infinix Hot S3 was a tough sell.

Not only wasn’t the device unfortunate enough to arrive at a time when Infinix had just also released into the market devices with almost the same features and capabilities but at a lower price, it also failed to match some other offerings in the market. Like those from Chinese brands Huawei and Xiaomi.

Fast-forward to late last year during the holiday season when Safaricom, which had the device as the exclusive launch partner, discounted it by Kshs 3,500 and I was all for recommending the Infinix Hot S3 again to everyone who cared to ask.

Now, at just under Kshs 10,000, Infinix’s latest discount on the device is unbeatable.

The Infinix store on Jumia Kenya has the Hot S3’s price cut to a mere Kshs 9,700, a price drop of almost half! This means that it should top your list of any phone purchases, especially gifts, you plan on making this Easter. That is if getting two basic Android smartphones for the price of one isn’t that attractive to you.

The price drop may have something to do with happenings a few days ago. The Hot S3’s successor, the Infinix S4 (it drops the Hot branding), goes on sale on 23rd April and is currently up for pre-order for a much lower Kshs 15,000 for the base model and the same Kshs 19,000 that the Hot S3 started at for the 6GB RAM variant.

Interestingly, the device is not discounted on Safaricom’s shop on its e-commerce platform, Masoko, and is nowhere to be found on Infinix’s own online shop, Infinix Mall.
