HMD Global released the Nokia 5.1 Plus into the Kenyan market towards the end of last year priced at Kshs 24,000. But today, the same phone can be had for nearly half the RRP, now going for just Kshs 12,999.

There’s a lot going for this amount. On top of being an Android One phone with promises for timely software updates and at least two major Android OS upgrades, the Nokia 5.1 Plus also boasts some impressive on-paper specs.

Upfront, the device has a 2.5D glass stretching across 5.8 inches and with an HD+ resolution thanks to the tall 19:9 aspect ratio. It’s unclear what version of Gorilla Glass protects the notched screen or if there’s any for that matter.

Under the hood, the Nokia 5.1 Plus ships with a MediaTek Helio P60 chipset allied to 3GB RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. The cameras have a dual 13MP + 5MP combo on the back and an 8MP unit for selfies and keeping it alive is a 3060mAh battery unit.

Although the device boots Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, a ready update to Android 9 Pie is waiting for you. As noted earlier, you are also guaranteed an update to Android Q, but the wait could go all the way up to 2020.

The offer is available from a top seller (Goldenlinks) with over 10,000 successful sales on Jumia Kenya and you can have the phone in either Black or Blue paint job.
