Earlier this month, reports emerged that Samsung Galaxy A90 will be the first from the company to support 45W fast battery charging technology. Apparently, fresh reports claim this same device will also get a 5G variant and that it will be the first in the Galaxy A series to rock the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8xx series chipset.
According to a renowned leaker who goes by the Twitter handle OnLeaks, the Galaxy A90 will get two variants – a standard and a 5G variant. Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor will power both variants, but the former will reportedly get an extra touch of the so-called Tilt OIS technology.
For now, no one knows what Tilt OIS tech means, but it sure sounds like something related to the optical image stabilization of the camera. Given that the Galaxy A90 is shaping up to be a flagship-like device, it’s no surprise that OIS is among the features being touted.
In order to somehow make amends, I bring you the key specs of these devices 😜

The tipster also claims the standard A90, which will carry model number SM-A905, is the variant that will come with the said Tilt OIS tech as part of the tri-lens 48MP+ 12MP + 5MP main camera. As for the 5G variant, which is assigned model number SM-A908, it will allegedly come with a tri-lens shooter of 48MP + 8MP + 5MP, but there is surprisingly no mention of OIS.
This same rear-facing tri-lens camera setup will rotate to become the selfie camera when needed, just like the Galaxy A80, a device that some thought would be unveiled in other markets as the A90. In addition, the Galaxy A90 is said to come with an expansive 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with an under-display fingerprint scanner.
We don’t have word on when Samsung plans to unveil the Galaxy A90, but we should get more details pretty soon.
