Android Pie update for Samsung Galaxy J7 2017 is now available in Kenya

Samsung Galaxy J7 2017

Samsung promised to update the Galaxy J7 2017, otherwise known as Galaxy J7 Pro, to One UI based on Android 9 Pie in June 2019. While some markets did receive the update as promised, it’s only now that the same update is rolling out in Kenya.

Software updates are usually staggered, so it’s no major surprise that Kenyan users of the Galaxy J7 2017 are receiving the update to Pie weeks after others received it.

The update is arriving as software version J730FXWU4CSF5, although it may also reach you as version J730GMDXU6CSF5 depending on the model number of your device (model number SM-J730F for the former and SM-J730GM for the latter). As you can see, though, the build number is the same for either case – CSF5.

On top of installing the latest Android Pie update, the software also tags along a newer Android security patch for the month of May 2019. Although not the latest patch level available, not so many will bother due to the excitement that comes with Pie.

The update, which is available over the air, weighs beyond 1GB, so be sure to connect your Galaxy J7 handset to a stable Wi-Fi network to download the OS.
