The Galaxy A20 arrived in Kenya in April as one of the soldiers Samsung sent to disrupt the dominance established by Chinese vendors in the budget smartphone segment.
To make it even better, the device began receiving its first software update in the country last week that installs a new Android security patch alongside the usual bug fixes and performance improvements.
It’s not the latest security update in town following the release of July security patches for the Galaxy S8 and S8+, but it’s great that Samsung is up and running with software updates for one of its budget devices.
The software is arriving as version A205FXXU2ASE8 and since it has been around for a week or so, most Galaxy A20 units in the country should have received the download notification.
We also expect Samsung to update the Galaxy A20 to Android Q when the time comes, probably in 2020.
