Following the recent arrival of Samsung Galaxy A80 in the country, the Kenyan market now has at least six models in the new Galaxy A series selling locally. Next in line should be the superior Samsung Galaxy A90, a device that has been on our radar in the recent past.

We first reported about the Galaxy A90 when it emerged that Samsung was working on 45W fast battery charging. Not long after, we got wind that a 5G variant of this same device was in the works too. At the time, it was claimed a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor would power this model.

Now, in the latest developments, it’s emerging that the Galaxy A90 5G will get a huge 4500mAh battery to match the likes of Galaxy S10 5G and Galaxy A70. It has also been revealed that the A90 5G will be sold globally as model SM-A908B and not limited to Korea. The latter market’s variant reportedly has model number SM-A908N.

Although it’s unclear if the Galaxy A90 will be sold locally, the fact that other Galaxy A devices have been released in the country is an indicator that this device could also find its way to these sides of the planet. Even so, it’s likely that only the non-5G variant will be sold here given that 5G is still far from reality.

What remains to be seen is whether the non-5G variant of the A90 will also get the same 4500mAh battery and the rumored Snapdragon 855 processor allied to 6GB RAM.  We should find out eventually.
