In 2016, Tecno Mobile and Manchester City announced a partnership program aimed at delivering fan-led football-themed content to City fans across the globe, something that culminated into the launch of the Tecno Camon CX Manchester City Edition the following year.
During the launch of the Tecno Phantom 9, the Chinese company and current English Premier League champions announced the renewal of this partnership for a multi-year period. To mark this announcement, 40,000 Indians will virtually race across the globe on their way to Manchester in a health and fitness program dubbed ‘Race to Manchester City’ aimed at encouraging City and Tecno fans and fitness enthusiasts to take at least 10,000 steps per day.
According to Stephen Ha, VP of Transsion Holdings and MD of Tecno Mobile and Transsion India, “The partnership with Manchester City Football Club, the Premier League champions, will help further boost our brand recognition and name value as a leading mobile device company around the world. With a history of business relationships in elite sport, TECNO is delighted to partner with City, a club who we feel shares similar values.”

What remains to be seen is whether the Phantom 9 or any other Tecno device for that matter will get a Manchester City Edition. We should find out sooner or later.
