It took a little longer than the window intimated to us by HMD Global (between last Friday and yesterday, Monday) but it’s finally here!
Android 10 is currently rolling out to the Nokia 8.1 in the country, days after the global rollout of the long-awaited update was announced.
According to the official changelog, the update brings with it a system-wide dark mode, smart replies, gesture navigation, additional controls for privacy and location and the September 2019 security patch.
Of course, it goes without saying that a lot of the features that we have previously highlighted as coming to Android in Android 10 are also making their way to the Nokia 8.1 with this update.
The update clocks in at just under 1.5 GB.
HMD Global expects to further provide upgrades to Android 10 to at least 2 other smartphones before the turn of the year: the Nokia 9 PureView and the Nokia 7.1.
The Nokia 8.1 started selling in Kenya at the end of March and the Android 10 update is its first major upgrade.
