Infinix’s latest smartphone series, the Hot 8, is finally available for purchase in the country over a month since the device was announced globally and made available in other markets like India.

The Infinix Hot 8 series features the standard model as well as a lite variant.

The Infinix Hot 8 Lite varies from the standard model by way of two key features: the cameras and mobile network access.

The Infinix Hot 8 Lite doesn’t connect to 4G networks as it is limited to just 3G. It also misses out on the triple camera arrangement on the standard model.

The Infinix Hot 8 has an “AI lens” added to the two cameras at the back. It had been up for pre-order last month.

Both devices pack monstrous 5,000mAh battery units to power their large 6.6-inch displays.

According to Infinix, the battery lasts for up to 4 days. That, however, comes at a cost. It takes the device up to 3 hours to be fully charged.

In keeping up with the Hot series’ renowned budget chops, the Infinix Hot 8 Lite starts at Kshs 9,999, just like the Tecno Spark 4 Air which is set to go on sale in the country soon. The Infinix Hot 8 is going for Kshs 1,000 more at Kshs 10,999.

From November 6th, a variant of the Infinix Hot 8 with more memory (3 GB), will be made available for purchase exclusively via Jumia Kenya for Kshs 11,899.
