About 18 months ago, the Nokia 7 Plus was one of the very first smartphones to get the then latest version of Android, 9 Pie. It was also, obviously, the first Nokia smartphone to receive the update having been part of the Android Pie public beta testing programme.
This year, however, dogged by its ageing status, the device has taken a back seat as the Nokia 8.1 stole its shine.
Luckily for users of that device, the wait hasn’t been long as just 3 months since HMD Global started seeding Android 10 to its first smartphone, the Nokia 8.1, it is already hitting the Nokia 7 Plus.
This development comes just a day after the company started releasing the Android 10 update for the Nokia 6.1 Plus.
The Nokia 6.1 Plus, Nokia 6.1 and Nokia 7 Plus were all earmarked for an upgrade from Android Pie to Android 10 in early 2020 and, as we are witnessing, that is already coming to pass.
Test builds for some of these devices had leaked all the way back in October.
According to reports from those that have already received the update on their devices, users of the Nokia 7 Plus should reserve at least 1.4GB in data bundles (for those not on Wi-Fi) and storage space in order to accommodate it.
