Infinix is set to unveil the Zero 8 in Kenya on September 7.
The device’s local unveiling will coincide with that of the company’s first-ever television series in the local market.
The launch of the Infinix Zero 8 fills the glaring gap that has existed for over a year in the absence of a true successor to the Infinix Zero 6, the last Zero device to make its way to Kenya.
The Zero series is Infinix’s flagship smartphone series, playing above the Infinix S, Note, Hot and Smart series.
As such, the expectations we should be having for the device should be rather high. That is why we expect to see much-deserved upgrades to the Infinix smartphone lineup like a USB Type-C port, more memory (8GB anyone?) and an even capable processor, the MediaTek Helio G90T, which is what you go up from the G70 on the last Infinix smartphone we have reviewed.
The hero feature that Infinix will be glad to show-off all-day long is the device’s cameras both on the front and at the back. On the front, for the first time ever, Infinix is releasing a device with two selfie cameras (48 + 8MP), fitting them in a punch-hole setup. At the back, there’s a 64-megapixel main sensor headlining the quad-camera setup housed in the diamond-style bump (see below above).
A high refresh rate display panel (Full HD) and new design are expected to round off the Infinix Zero 8’s standout features.
Included with the Zero 8 teasers and leaked promotional content from earlier on are references to another member of the Zero 8 series, the Zero 8i, which we are not sure if it will be making its way to the Kenyan market.
How much do you think this smartphone will go for?
