Infinix is partnering with a prominent Kenyan fashion designer, Sally Karago, for the upcoming Kenyan launch of its 2020 flagship smartphone, the Infinix Zero 8.

“Infinix is taking a step to be more premium and able to compete and be the face of this new direction as a fashion-conscious brand. This direction is very much in tandem with the expected target customers, whose lifestyle could be described as image and fashion-conscious and trendy, with a taste for high-end gadgets,” a statement from the company reads.

If you have watched our Infinix Zero 8 unboxing video and the teasers that have been making the rounds then you already know by now that the device features a diamond design all through. Infinix is tapping on those design cues on the device in this partnership. The brand is tapping into Karago’s design expertise to come up with clothing designs that mimick the device’s design for real clothes that will be worn by celebrities endorsing the brand.

“The design will feature diamond-shaped elements which is the main design concept for the Zero 8 smartphone.”

All this is an effort to place the Zero 8 as a stylish lifestyle device, something that we have also seen other brands do in other markets.

Samsung is very well known for its associations with the global fashion industry, for instance, releasing various products themed around its partnerships with designers and brands such as Thom Browne, recently, and Swarovski, in past years.

The Infinix Zero 8 features a high-refresh display, two selfie cameras, the above-mentioned diamond design and several other features that allow it to stand at the top of the Infinix smartphone chain.

The device is set to be launched in Kenya next week.
