Chinese smartphone brand vivo announced the launch of its latest budget smartphone, the vivo Y20s, in Kenya on Tuesday, February 2.
The device is now available for purchase in retail stores across the country as well as online.
The vivo Y20s is an update of the vivo Y20 which became available in Kenya a month after the Y20s’ global announcement in October last year.
Where the vivo Y20’s starting price was Kshs 14,000, the Y20s costs more at Kshs 21,000.
It packs a beefy 5,000mAh battery, just like the Y20 but the difference here being that it comes with an 18W charger in the box that allows it to take advantage of vivo’s proprietary FlashCharge technology.
Other features and specifications include a Snapdragon 460 processor, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, “an AI Triple Macro Camera 13 MP (wide) + 2 MP (macro) + 2 MP (depth) supported by a wide range of features including Face Beauty, Portrait Light Effects and Filters to capture sharper images” and an 8-megapixel selfie camera.
The display remains unchanged from that on the Y20 i.e. a 6.5-inch HD+ panel.
The device is priced comes in Obsidian Black and Purist Blue colours.
