The world’s focus might be on Android 12, the upcoming new version of Android that is currently in its last stages of public testing, there is still quite a number of devices out there that are yet to make the jump to even Android 11.
One of those devices is the Nokia 5.3.
It has taken the device, which became available locally over a year ago, much longer to get the update than anticipated.
The revised update roadmap shared 3 months ago had the Android 11 upgrade earmarked for the second quarter of 2021.
The update, according to those who have received it, clocks in at 1.67GB under build number 2.210.
Given that we are at least 2 days late with sharing with you this news, by the time you are reading this, it should be available for your device here in Kenya and pretty much elsewhere. Keep checking if you haven’t received the notification, yet.
Given that the device was to receive at least two major versions of Android, the next stop for Nokia 5.3 users should be Android 12. However, if the current timeline is anything to go by, that should take a lot longer to arrive. There’s a newer kid on the block, after all.
