Smartphone brand realme is set to unveil its latest smartphone, the realme 9i, in Kenya in a few days’ time.
While the company is yet to confirm the exact date when the local unveiling of the device will be, we have it on good authority that the reveal will be happening next week.
The realme 9i is the newest smartphone model in the brand’s number series, picking up from the realme 8 series. Previously, the brand has released devices in the realme 6 and 7 series in the Kenyan market.
The realme 9i, announced globally last month, packs a 6.6-inch Full HD+ with a 90Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 680 chipset (like the one we find on the new Redmi Note 11 Pro unveiled locally yesterday), a triple camera setup at the back that is headlined by a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 16-megapixel in-display selfie camera and a 5,000mAh battery unit that supports 33W fast-charging (Dart charge).
Memory options stand at 4 and 6 gigabytes while storage options are at 64 and 128GB. The latter can be expanded via a microSD to a maximum of a terabyte.
The realme 9i comes in two colour options: Prism Blue and Prism Black.
Pricing for the device is expected to be between Kshs 20,000 and Kshs 25,000.
The release of the realme 9i soon will be the brand’s first launch this year, coming after the unveiling of the realme C25Y at the end of last year.
Given that the realme 9i is not alone in the 9 series, we might expect to see other members of the series namely the realme 9, realme 9 4G and realme 9 Pro sometime within the year. Fingers crossed.
