Ready to Find X? Oppo is.
The Chinese device is set to unveil the Find X5, its latest Find series device, in the Kenyan market on Thursday.
The device will be the company’s flagship smartphone in the local market when it launches.
Oppo has, over the last few years, concentrated its efforts locally on the A and Reno series devices which straddle its entire entry-level and mid-range device offerings.
“This flagship introduces an advanced camera system powered by MariSilicon X, the dedicated imaging Neural Processing Unit that supports 4K Ultra Night Video capabilities and more,” the company says in a statement.
The Find X5 features 3 cameras at the back that include phase detection autofocus. The primary 50-megapixel sensor, which is backed by another 50-megapixel ultrawide, has OIS (optical image stabilization). The third sensor is a 13-megapixel telephoto 2x optical zoom shooter. The front sees a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
“Oppo has integrated MariSilicon X to ensure selfies look better than ever, with more texture and more accurate colour reproduction – even in challenging light conditions. And when more friends jump in the frame, the selfie camera automatically switches from an 80 to a 90-degree wide-angle, making sure nobody’s left out.”
“The phone will be able to support Ultra HDR Video enhancement that will widen the phone’s colour range that boosts Third-Party Apps such as TikTok and Instagram,” the statement from Oppo continues.
The use of the MariSilicon X NPU, Oppo opines, will reduce noise when shooting at night (even in 4K) while preserving fine details and maintaining colour accuracy.
Other specifications of the device include the 6.5-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 888 chipset from Qualcomm and a 4,800mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC fast-charging. There are also 8 gigabytes of memory and 256 gigabytes of onboard storage.
The device runs on ColorOS 12.1 which is based on Android 12.
