Smartphone brand vivo is set to launch one of its latest smartphones, the vivo V25 5G, in Kenya later in October – next month.
The vivo V25 5G will be accompanied by the vivo V25e, one of the other two devices in the vivo V25 smartphone series. The other device, the vivo V25 Pro, is not being made available in the local market.
“The new vivo V25 5G will follow the V series’ heritage of capturing exquisite moments with its superior camera capabilities and cutting-edge imaging technology,” reads a statement from vivo’s Kenya office.
The device, like its predecessor the vivo V23 5G we looked at a few months ago, features a colour-changing design, “reflecting the dynamic personalities of users”.
It features a 64-megapixel main sensor at the back which vivo says minimizes blurry shots and supports a longer exposure time thanks to its optical image stabilization (OIS) feature. This sensor is backed by an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel macro lens. On the front is a 50-megapixel selfie shooter.
Other specifications include a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, a MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset, 8GB RAM, 256GB onboard storage, a 4,500mAh battery with 44W fast charging (vivo calls it ‘FlashCharge’).
The device runs on FunTouch OS 12, which is vivo’s custom take on Android 12.
As the name suggests, and as we can see in the choice of chipset above, there’s also, well, 5G network connectivity. 5G is still a long way out in Kenya but, if you are paying as much money as we think vivo will be asking for the V25, it’s worth being future-proofed, don’t you think?
The vivo V25, in Kenya, will come in two colour options: Aquamarine Blue and Diamond Black.
