Smartphone brand realme has announced the availability of one of its latest devices, the realme C30s, in the Kenyan market.
The smartphone, announced in September, will be going for Kshs 10,700 in the country, entering the same segment that we find the Redmi 9A and the recently-launched Redmi A1+ from Xiaomi. This is also the same segment that we find the Tecno Pop 2F and the Infinix Smart 6, some of the most affordable smartphones from the Transsion Holdings brands.
According to realme, what sets the C30s apart from the competition is its side-mounted fingerprint sensor which it says is a first “in-class” feature.
According to realme Kenya, the C series is the brand’s most popular in the country, which isn’t surprising given the pricing of devices in that series and the market being fully price-driven.
The realme C30s packs a 6.5-inch HD+ display, a Unisoc SC9863A, an 8-megapixel camera at the back, a 5-megapixel camera on the front, a choice of 2 and 4 GB memory and 32 and 64 GB internal storage and a 5,000mAh battery.
The device runs on the Go Edition of Android 12 which is called realme UI Go, thanks to realme’s own customizations.
Going by the specifications above, the device is available in various configurations. There is the 2GB RAM + 32GB onboard storage and a 4GB RAM + 64GB onboard storage variant. Pricing starts at Kshs 10,700.
The realme C30s comes in Stripe Blue and Stripe Black colour options.
