Nothing has launched their latest premium midrange phone, the Phone 4a Pro and it is striking.

First, the design. It has an aluminium unibody which I absolutely love. It has the clear back that we have gotten used to for Nothing phones but with a larger camera backhousing. There is a triple camera setup at the back plus a tweaked Glyph matrix which we saw with the Nothing Phone 3. Nothing says the new matrix has 137 LEDs that can go as bright as 3000 nits.

The triple cameras at the back have been revised. The main camera is a 50MP unit with a sensor size of 1/1.56″ and an aperture of f/1.9. The new bit is the periscope camera that is a 50MP unit that tops out at 3.5x and has OIS. The ultrawide camera is a 8MP camera with a 120˚ field of view and a tiny 1/4″ sensor size. The selfie camera is a 32MP camera with a f/2.2 aperture and a 1/3.42″ sensor which is way worse than the 50MP 1/2.76″ sensor on the 3(a) Pro. The main camera can shoot video upto 4K at 30fps and 1080p upto 120fps.

On the front, we have a 6.83-inch AMOLED display that can top out at 5000 nits and go as fast as 144Hz. This is a 10-bit panel unlike the Galaxy S26 line, and for a premium midranger, this is great.

The Nothing 4a Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 which is a 4nm chip and has two configurations: 8GB RAM/128GB storage or 12GB RAM/256GB storage. Nothing claims the 4a Pro is 27% faster in terms of CPU performance and 30% more powerful in terms of graphics compared to its replacement.

The battery size and fast charging capabilities is also pretty decent too. It has a 5,080mAh battery with 50W fast charging. Nothing says that it will retain 90% of its battery after 1,200 charges which is way higher than the 80%, we hear from other brands.

The Phone 4a Pro runs on Nothing OS 4.1 which is based on Android 16 out of the box. The phone with receive 3 major Android updates and 6 years of security updates, which is decent but still below what we get on Samsung, Pixel and even the iPhone.

The Nothing 4a Pro will start at $499 for the base 8GB/128GB model and will be available in pink, silver and black.
