Microsoft Word for Android gets ability to view PDF files

Users who have signed up to beta test Microsoft’s Office applications on Android (Microsoft calls them Office Insiders) are getting a sweet treat according to the Office Insider team at Microsoft.

The company is rolling out several updates to its Office apps. Microsoft Excel users, for instance, will now be able to open “open files that contain scripts as well as files including Query tables with parameters.” Those who use Microsoft’s word processing app to type on their Android smartphones are not left behind either. They will now not need the services of another application in order to view PDFs. The Microsoft Word app now does that in-house.

All the three Microsoft Office apps (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) have been updated to include shadow and reflection effects.
