We already knew about the imminent launch of the Infinix Note 5 and Note 5 Pro, the successors to the 2017 Note 4 and Note 4 Pro, however, details of the phones’ pricing had remained unclear, at least until now.

Thanks to Jumia Kenya, which will be the exclusive seller of the phone beginning June 24th (and probably for several weeks thereafter), we now know that the Infinix Note 5 will be priced at Sh 17,939. Although Jumia doesn’t mention, this is likely to be the starting price of the phone, meaning the Pro variant could set you back a higher figure.

The retailer notes that it’s already accepting pre-orders for the Note 5, but when I tried submitting my email address, I was greeted by a “CSRF Token Invalid”  error message, whatever that means. Hopefully, this will be fixed sooner than later.

As far as the specs are concerned, we don’t know much about the Infinix Note 5 apart from a few things here and there. For instance, we know it will be an Android One device and that the stylus from last year should also make a comeback, this time much better than the first-gen version. We also know that the Note 5 will shift to the new 18:9 design for the display screen, which is a welcome idea. Infinix has been hyping the phone’s 3-day battery life, but we still don’t know the exact capacity.

Although Infinix hasn’t revealed the performance specs, the Note 5 is likely to be powered by a MediaTek MT6763 processor, otherwise known as Helio P23, paired with 3GB RAM. Of course, the Note 5 Pro will bump some of these specs up, coming in with 4GB RAM and twice the storage allocated to the Note 5. Software-wise, expect Android 8.1 Oreo (Android One) to run the show out of the box.

With only a few days left before the Infinix Note 5 and Note 5 Pro go official, it shouldn’t be long before we get all details about the duo.

Meanwhile, are you excited about the launch of the Note 5 and Note 5 Pro? Let us know in your comments below.
