Update [October 1]: A quick look at Xiaomi’s online store reveals that the Redmi 6A is back in stock, both the 16GB and 32GB storage options. The former is priced at Sh 9,499 and the latter will set you back Sh 11,999.
[Original post]: Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi 6A in Kenya a month ago and today, the phone is out of stock in the company’s official online shop hosted by Jumia Kenya.
According to a tweet by Xiaomi Kenya, the Redmi 6A has sold more than 5000 units in the said period, which should make it the company’s best performer locally at the moment.
True to this, in his review of the Redmi 6A, Emmanuel describes it as a complete package and indeed, the market performance tells it all. On the brighter side, Xiaomi notes that the device will be back in stock soon, although it doesn’t mention when.
SOLD OUT ALREADY! IN JUST A MONTH!
Thank you Mi Fans Kenya for all your support. Stay tuned for the next batch of #Redmi6A #tEntryLevelSmartPhoneKinghttps://t.co/0jHSFdfKlR pic.twitter.com/YMeOQFDiGh

Of course, during this wait-time, you still have the option to buy from other retailers on Jumia or other platforms like Avechi Kenya, but be careful because some units sold through non-official shops may have 4G LTE connectivity issues with local networks.
We’ll update this post when the device is back in stock.
