The Nokia 7.1, one of the many smartphones released this year by Finnish company HMD Global, the licensees of the Nokia brand, is currently receiving an upgrade to Android 9 Pie.
The rollout started yesterday, as confirmed by this tweet from HMD Global’s Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarvikas.
Dubbed Nokia’s “first smartphone with PureDisplay screen tech”, the Nokia 7.1 started selling locally early this month.
The update is said to be 1.3GB so if you happen to be one of those who already purchased it, that’s roughly the amount of space you need to have and data that you need to budget for.
This follows the release of Android 9 Pie to the Nokia 6.1 and Nokia 6.1 Plus at the start of November.
HMD Global has promised to upgrade its entire smartphone lineup to Android Pie.
