Update: The Galaxy J4 Core is also receiving June 2019 security patch as build number ASF3, but unlike the others, the update is based on Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition. The original post continues below.

Samsung software updates are always staggered, which is why we are here talking about June 2019 security updates in July for flagship devices like the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10+ and the aging Galaxy Note 8. More often than not, though, it’s better to be late than never.

The latest flagships from Samsung, the Galaxy S10 series, are receiving updates with build number ASF3. The rollout started about a week ago, so most users of either device should have received the download notification by now.

Here’s the full changelog:

  • Wi-Fi connectivity and stability have been improved.
  • The stability of the camera has been improved.
  • Bluetooth connectivity and stability has been improved.
  • The security patch level of your device has been improved to June 2019.

Also, owners of the Galaxy Note 8 in the country should have received the OTA download by now considering the changelog was published on the same day as the Galaxy S10 family. But of course, the software build number is different – DSF6.

Both Galaxy S10 and Note 8 updates are based on Android 9 Pie, the latter having received it as a software update. The former is expected to lead others in receiving Samsung Android Q update later this year, but the latter won’t join it, at least not officially.

If you haven’t seen the update yet, go to Settings > About phone > Software update and then Download update manually.
