Safaricom giving away Kshs 3,000 airtime if you buy any of these four phones

In what was a rather surprising move, Safaricom’s Masoko last month kicked out all merchants as it looks towards running an online shop focused on phones and accessories.

Whatever reasons Safaricom has for doing this are still better known to the giant telco. But from this side of the table, it’s easy to think of Masoko as dead and gone.

As it stands, only products sold by Safaricom are available through Masoko and so far, the carrier has some hot deals to continue from where the Open Day event held earlier this month left off. This means cheaper phones are available right now and even better is that Safaricom is giving away Kshs 3,000 worth of airtime.

Safaricom

This, however, is only true for those who purchase any of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10, Nokia 7.2, Oppo A9 2020 or Tecno Phantom 9 through the online platform. As usual with such deals, they are limited to stock and unfortunately, they haven’t mentioned the number of units available.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10

The Galaxy Note 10 is the latest premium phone from Samsung, but the model on offer is the base variant with 6.3 inches of display, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of expandable storage. As if the Kshs 3,000 airtime is not enough, Safaricom is also bundling a 32GB Samsung microSD card.

To get your hands on this beast, get ready to part with Kshs 92,999. Want it? It’s here.

FYI, the Galaxy Note 10 is already receiving the stable One UI 2.0 update based on Android 10, although the Kenyan variant hasn’t picked up the download yet. It should do so before New Year 2020.

Nokia 7.2

The Nokia 7.2 needs no introduction. It’s HMD Global’s top-end release of the year (yeah, I know about the Nokia 9 PureView too), but it sits in the midrange market segment not just because of its pricing, but also the kind of hardware package it brings to the table compared to the Galaxy Note 10.

It usually costs Kshs 29,999 on Masoko, but in the latest deal, you can have it for Kshs 25,999. Of course, you also get Kshs 3,000 free airtime, but no microSD card this time.

Oppo A9 2020

The Oppo A9 2020 arrived a while back to notable fanfare thanks to its 48MP quad-lens camera and 5000mAh battery unit. A solid package, especially for those heading to the village. Even better is that you can now get it at a slightly discounted Kshs 28,999 on top of the Kshs 3,000 free airtime.

Also, to further sweeten the offer, the deal includes a free 8000mAh Oraimo Powerbank, which is something you may need beyond this festive season. Does this Oppo A9 2020 deal interest you? Well, check it out here.

Tecno Phantom 9

The Tecno Phantom 9 arrived in the country in August this year priced at Kshs 25,000, but today, you can have it for Kshs 23,999 on Masoko. For this amount, you also get free Kshs 3,000 worth of airtime.

Tecno Phantom 9 safaricom deal

We took the Phantom 9 for a ride and came up with both an impressions article and another on the top features you get on the phone. If interested, you can grab it from here, although you may want to check out the competition first before deciding.

Either way, none of these phones will disappoint you, especially when you factor in the Kshs 3,000 Airtime offer. But be reminded that Safaricom phones have a single SIM card slot.
