Safaricom’s Zuri bot: Another avenue for accessing customer service but is it necessary?
FacebookTwitterWhatsApp

Safaricom subscribers have yet another avenue to access self-help service.

Zuri, the company’s bot, is now available through WhatsApp.

Through Zuri, subscribers can access a number of services.

These include being able to retrieve PUK numbers in the event that one’s SIM is locked, managing subscriptions, getting usage statements, accessing help with M-Pesa services (reversals, getting statements, changing the email address where statements are sent to, etc).

As has been the case when using Zuri so far on other platforms, it will still take the user to the SIM toolkit for validating account details before proceeding.

On WhatsApp, Zuri can be waved into action by typing “Hi Zuri” (or whatever, she’ll correct you, anyway) when you click .

The Safaricom Zuri chatbot can also be accessed through Facebook’s other messaging app, Messenger, as well as Telegram. It has been on the two platforms since its launch almost 2 years ago.
