HMD Global has started seeding the Android 10 update for the Nokia 3.2.
The device is among the 6 that had been pending on the company’s update roadmap which was revised recently.
Now, that list has been narrowed down to just 5 devices with yesterday’s release of the 3.2’s Android 10 update.
The remaining 5 devices are: Nokia 2.3, Nokia 3.1 Plus, Nokia 4.2, Nokia 6.2 and the Nokia 8 Sirocco.
According to a German blogger, the Nokia 4.2 is next in line with its update hitting devices as soon as April 9th.
The Nokia 3.2 has been available in the local market for almost a year now; having gone on sale back in May last year for a bargain Kshs 14,000. At the time, the device arrived running Android 9. This means that this Android 10 update is the first major software update that it is receiving since release.
Given HMD Global’s guarantee for up to 2 major software upgrades, users of the device (and those looking to pick it up at the moment since prices may have dipped) can expect yet to get Android 11 some time next year alongside the usual monthly security updates which are guaranteed for up to 3 years for Android One devices like the Nokia 3.2.
Users of the device in Kenya will have to wait for a few more days since the country is not among the first wave of markets (mostly in Europe and Asia) where the update is available to users of the device immediately. In fact, no African country is.
