Smartphone brand Oppo, yesterday, announced the introduction into the local market of two budget smartphones: the Oppo A16K and the Oppo A55K.
Both devices, from Oppo’s budget A-series lineup, are available for purchase immediately at Oppo brand stores and other outlets across the country. Online, they are available through Jumia Kenya, Kilimall and SkyGarden.
The A16K is the cheaper of the two devices, at a price of Kshs 20,000 while the A55 is going for Kshs 26,000.
The Oppo A16K features a 6.5-inch HD+ display, a 13-megapixel camera at the back and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, a MediaTek Helio G35 chipset, 4GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage. It has a 4,230mAh battery unit.
The OPPO A16k comes with a stylish design, lightweight body, upgraded hardware, and software optimizations powered by ColorOS 11.1, to deliver an efficient, comfortable, and smooth user experience at all times.
The Oppo A55, on the other hand, also packs a similar display (both in size and quality) but an upgraded camera experience comprising a tri-lens setup at the back (a 50-megapixel AI main camera flanked by a 2-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel bokeh camera) and a 16-megapixel shooter on the front.
It is powered by a MediaTek Helio G35 chipset as well, just like teh A16K. It packs 4GB RAM, 128GB onboard storage and a 5,000mAh battery. There is 18W fast-charging to go with the latter when the in-the-box accessories are used to juice it up.
Both devices run on version 11.1 of Oppo’s custom ColorOS skin.
The Oppo A16K comes in blue and black colour options while the A55 is available in an additional Mint Green colour as well.
The release of the two A-series devices follows the release and subsequent of yet another A-series smartphone from Oppo, the A95, recently.
