Samsung Galaxy S24 series started selling in Kenya on Valentine’s Day through multiple official retailers across the country. While Samsung Mobile Kenya has put out recommended retail prices for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra, other retailers have significantly discounted these phones just a month down the line.

Here are Samsung’s recommended retail prices in Kenya:

  • Samsung Galaxy S24 – Kshs 175,000 (8GB RAM, 256GB internal storage)
  • Samsung Galaxy S24+ – Kshs 190,000 (256GB), Kshs 235,000 (512GB)
  • Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra – Kshs 275,000 (256GB), Kshs 277,000 (512GB)

However, Phone Place Kenya is selling the Galaxy S24 at a price of just Kshs 113,500, a Kshs 61,500 discount on the recommended retail price. This is the lowest we’ve seen the phone since launch, however, the retailer’s original pricing was Kshs 150,000, which represents an actual discount of Kshs 36,500. Considering the harsh economic times, this is still decent savings on a phone that is a little over a month old since arriving in the country.

The Galaxy S24+, on the other hand, is available at Kshs 134,500 for the 256GB variant and Kshs 143,599 for the 512GB model. This is just a 10% discount on the original pricing. While it may not be as huge as the 24% discount on the standard S24, it’s still a discount either way. As for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, there’s a 12% discount that brings the price of the 256GB variant down to Kshs 162,500 while the 512GB model can be yours for Kshs 179,500. The latter model represents a whopping Kshs 97,500 discount on the phone’s recommended retail price, which is still nowhere near the Kshs 112,500 price drop on the 256GB variant of the S24 Ultra.

Phone Place Kenya has the best deals so far, but it doesn’t mean other retailers have nothing for you. For those who prefer buying from Samsung BrandCart, the Galaxy S24 is going for Kshs 122,000. But if you can’t pay the full amount at once, the retailer offers a monthly plan with a down payment of Kshs 31,500.

The Galaxy S24+ (256GB) is available for Kshs 134,500 while the 512GB variant is now priced at Kshs 153,500, which is higher than the price on Phone Place Kenya. The Galaxy S24 Ultra starts at Kshs 175,000 for 256GB storage and goes up to Kshs 195,000. Compared to the RRP, these are still some good savings and you are also getting a monthly installment plan to ease the burden of paying for the phone.

For Safaricom loyalists, Masoko has a small 1% discount on the Galaxy S24 and S24+, with the price of the S24 Ultra remaining unchanged. This brings down the prices from Kshs 174,999 to Kshs 172,999 for the S24 and Kshs 189,999 to Kshs 187,999 for the base models.

While it’s unclear what is driving the massive Galaxy S24 price drops in Kenya, it’s likely related to the strengthening Kenyan shilling against the US dollar. With a stronger shilling, Kenyan retailers are spending less on importing the Galaxy S24 series and subsequently passing some of the savings over to their customers.

Of course, be sure to check with the respective retailer before placing your order to confirm the prevailing price in case of any changes.
