Samsung is rumoured to have a new Galaxy S27 Pro which would slot in between the flagship Ultra and the Plus models.
According to ET News, this new variant will not have the S-Pen like the Ultra but will inherit its Privacy Display, which we saw with the Galaxy S26 Ultra. This tech is really cool because it allows parts of the screen or the whole screen to be only visible to the person looking directly at it.
We still do not know what type of features we could expect from the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro. Would it have a bigger display than the Plus? Is the display smaller or exactly the same as the Ultra? What is the battery capacity? What cameras should we expect on it? What is the pricing? Will they treat the Pro like how Apple does it by having the same features as the bigger Pro Max but with a smaller footprint? These are yet to be answered.
However, the one thing that is clear is that the Galaxy S27 Pro will technically make the S27 Plus useless. The Plus in the Galaxy Series has been the awkward middle child where it is only a hundred dollars shy of the much better Ultra flagship but shares most of the features of the base S series with only a bigger screen and battery so it feels like a bad deal either way. Since Samsung likes to copy Apple, this could be a way for Samsung to mirror what Apple does nowadays by offering 4 flagship models, and this is their way to make it level.
