We are still in April and Samsung has decided to expand their April 2026 update to more Galaxy devices, with a focus on the low end.
Samsung is pushing their April 2026 Security Update to their midrange and low-end devices which include:
- Galaxy A35
- Galaxy A26
- Galaxy A25
- Galaxy A07 5G
- Galaxy A07 4G
This update has fixes to 47 security issues, and it will be paramount to update your device if you see the notification. The fixes are from different departments within Samsung, which include Samsung Mobile and Samsung’s semi-conductor division. The fixes also include 33 from Google as part of their Android Security Bulletin for the month.
Apparently, these are being rolled out to their European and global variants and will be gradually expanded to more regions, so be in the lookout for it.
To those people who want to see new features coming from an update, Galaxy A35, A26 and A25 users are eligible to get One UI 8.5 which is based on Android 16 QPR2. That’s late to be honest since Android 17 is slated to be announced soon, but it is better than nothing. Owners of Galaxy A07 5G and A07 4G are not eligible, which is worse.
To the untrained, you can manually check for this update on your Samsung device by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Ideally, do such installs at night to prevent your daily tasks being interrupted by software updates.
