Xiaomi Mi A2 is now available for purchase in Kenya through online retailer Jumia Kenya. The phone was launched globally on July 24 and two months on, you can now buy one locally at a price of Sh 23,999.
We already knew about the phone’s availability in the country today and while we expected Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite to accompany it, I can’t find it in the company’s official online store. I’ve made an inquiry and we’ll update this post when they respond.
As for the Mi A2, parting with Sh 23,999 will get you quite an impressive smartphone. It has a 5.99-inch FHD+ LCD display screen, a Snapdragon 660 processor that you also find in the Nokia 7 Plus that is now retailing at about Sh 35,000, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of non-expandable storage. The optics have a dual-lens 12MP + 20MP setup on the back and a humongous 20MP on the front that promise great photography with help from the company’s AI-based tricks.
There’s a 3010mAh battery to keep the Mi A2 alive and boosting it takes place via a USB-C cable, although this comes at the expense of the 3.5mm audio jack. On the brighter side, Xiaomi does include a USB-C to 3.5mm dongle inside the box, but no headphones, as usual.
So far, the Mi A2 listed on Jumia is Blue in color, although the device also comes in shades of Black, Gold, Red, and Rose Gold, which we still don’t know if the company will bring to Kenya. To grab the Xiaomi Mi A2, hit the link below.
