Over the past week, Samsung has been on a roll with Android Pie updates here in Kenya. First was the Galaxy A9 2018 that switched to the new One UI last week and earlier this week, the Galaxy J6 got the nod.
As I write this, owners of the Galaxy A7 2018 in the country should be receiving over-the-air (OTA) updates to the newest stable Android OS, Pie. The firmware has just popped up online with version A750FXXU1BSD4, which also tags along security patches for the month of April 2019.
Speaking of, the same security patch is also rolling out to the company’s first Android Go device, the Galaxy J2 Core. Yes, the J2 Core is also on the list of Samsung devices to be updated to Android Pie, but for now, you still get to deal with Oreo, 8.1.
The firmware has version J260FXXS2ASD1 and like the A7, the rollout is airborne. Granted, not every user of either device will receive the download notification today, but it’ll eventually arrive.
