Despite being months older than the Galaxy S10 family, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 always seems to be a step ahead of the new kids on the block when it comes to receiving monthly software updates.

At a time when the Galaxy S10 series in Kenya is receiving June 2019 security updates, the Galaxy Note 9 is on the receiving end of the latest July 2019 security patch. The software is arriving as version N960FXXS3CSG1 and having just been published late last week, it’s possible that some units are yet to see the OTA download notification.

To check for the update manually, go to Settings > About phone > Software update and if the software is ready for your device, download it manually.

The Galaxy Note 9 will soon be succeeded by the Galaxy Note 10 so enjoy this privilege while it lasts. You can read more about what the Note 10 brings here.
