Smartphone brand vivo is set to unveil yet another smartphone, the vivo Y20, in the Kenyan market soon.
According to the company, the vivo Y20 will be launched on October 8th.
When it becomes available next month, the vivo Y20 will be in good company, joining several other vivo Y series smartphones like the vivo Y30, unveiled locally a month ago, the vivo Y19, Y17, Y15 and Y12, which have already been selling in Kenya for between a few months and over a year.
Besides the entry-level Y series, vivo also offers its mid-range V series in the country with the latest being the vivo V19 we reviewed recently.
The vivo Y20 features a 6.51-inch HD+ “Halo Display” in a 20:9 aspect ratio, a 5,000mAh battery that vivo says can go for 11 hours when one is gaming, an AI triple camera setup with macro and bokeh lenses as well as “advanced selfie features”.
The device, announced last month, arrives running version 10.5 of vivo’s custom take on Android 10, FunTouch OS, and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 460. It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor (embedded in the power button) and supports 18W fast-charging.
Given the vivo Y30’s Kshs 17,000 starting price last month, we can expect the Y20 to cost much less and be one of the most affordable means of getting on to the vivo bandwagon.
