How to watch Samsung’s Unpacked event

It is August 10th and Samsung, as expected, is set to announce several devices at its event on this day.

Samsung has traditionally scheduled an event around this time. That is when we would see a new Galaxy Note smartphone – but that era is now well and truly over, or so we hear. Initially, it would coincide with the IFA trade show in Berlin, Germany, but as the need to have prominence for its own event and the devices it would announce grew, the Unpacked event was pushed to at least a few weeks earlier.

We have a good idea of what those devices are. Now that foldable smartphones have gone mainstream, driven almost singlehandedly by the Korean company, we expect Samsung to update its foldables smartphone lineup. Will we see it drop its Galaxy Z branding, though, as the rumours allege? What about dropping its own Exynos chipsets in favour of Snapdragon ones from Qualcomm in the wake of that new deal they just inked? Or it is too soon?

There are also watches. Yes, any time is a good time to, well, check the time. Smartwatches, of course, do more than let you check the time. They’ll time your workout in the gym while keeping track of the calories you are burning, tell you when you need to be more relaxed so as to have healthy sleeping patterns and even allow you to share your creative or whatever side with customizable straps and watch faces. While all of that is good, what has mattered to most of us has been the overall functionality, something that the software plays a crucial role in. With Samsung teaming up with Google for its watches, if we get to see an update to what they released last time, we expect even further refinements to the Watch experience.

What will be the price?

We don’t have long before we find out the real truth.
