If you use Android Auto then you know how much of a hustle it has been to change the wallpaper on your car’s infotainment system to one that’s of your taste, away from the dull black background that’s there by default. We even have a whole tutorial on the same.
Going forward? That will be as easy as ABC. Yes, seriously.
A new update that has rolled out to Android Auto users over the last few days brings with it the ability to just sync one’s phone’s wallpaper with the one that shows up on their car’s infotainment system display when Android Auto is in use.
The feature, which is turned on by default, can be turned off in the Android Auto settings if one doesn’t fancy it.
Users need not do anything. The same wallpaper on their smartphone is what will show up on the car. Simple. In the rare cases where Android Auto tries and fails to sync the wallpaper on one’s phone (like in cases where one is using a live wallpaper, which is unsupported), it falls back to the last compatible wallpaper or the big black abyss that has always existed.
