Xiaomi has announced the availability of the Redmi 13C smartphone in the Kenyan market starting today.
Drawn from its Redmi sub-brand, the 13C is the latest from the Redmi fold that is known for combining the latest in-demand features with affordable pricing.
“Combining affordability with top-notch features, the Redmi 13C promises to be the perfect present for tech enthusiasts and those looking for a budget-friendly yet powerful device,” Xiaomi Kenya says in a statement.
“As the festive season approaches, Xiaomi’s Redmi 13C stands out as the ultimate gift, whether for yourself or a loved one.”
The device packs a 6.74-inch HD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass protection, a 50-megapixel main camera that’s backed by a 2-megapixel macro lens and an auxiliary lens, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, a choice of 4, 6 and 8GB RAM and 128 and 256GB onboard storage, a Helio G85 chipset from MediaTek and a 5,000mAh battery.
Included in the retail packaging of the device is a 10W charger though, where you can find a higher wattage charger, the device will max out at 18W fast-charging.
The device also offers extended memory effectively doubling the top-spec Redmi 13C’s available RAM.
Oh, and the 3.5mm headphone jack still lives.
The device arrives running Android 13 on MIUI 14.
Pricing starts at Kshs 16,199 for the base model packing 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage and peaks at Kshs 20,099 for the variant with twice the memory and the storage. The middle-of-the-road child packing 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage goes for Kshs 17,699.
The device comes in Midnight Black, Navy Blue, Glacier White and Clover Green colour options.
